From Caribbean Rhythms to Global Beats
In the heart of Puerto Rico, Orteez began his musical journey at age 17, deeply influenced by the island’s rich Afro-Caribbean heritage. His early encounters with electronic music transformed into a lifelong passion, leading him to adopt the stage name "Orteez" in 2011 and delve into the diverse sounds of ambient, house, jungle, drum and bass. Yet, his unique infusion of Lo-Fi, Detroit, and Chicago House with underlying jazz and soul currents has distinguished his sound in the electronic music scene. This signature style has captivated local audiences and become a staple at Z Boys Music events, where he regularly enchants as a guest DJ.
Orteez’s versatility extends beyond the DJ booth into the recording studio, where he has produced tracks for some of the biggest names in Reggaeton and Latin Urban Pop, including Rauw Alejandro, Alvaro Díaz, and Villano Antillano. His adeptness at blending traditional Latin rhythms with contemporary electronic beats has earned him critical acclaim, positioning him as a bridge between the worlds of Latin rhythm and global electronic music. As he continues to collaborate with artists worldwide, Orteez is not just playing music; he’s shaping the future soundscape of a genre-blending era.
